Coal Mine Theatre

Coal Mine Theatre is an independent theatre company in Toronto’s east end. Founded by Co-Chief Engineers Diana Bentley and Ted Dykstra, The Coal Mine is now in its fourth season. As the first three seasons demonstrated, we are determined to present superbly written, richly thoughtful, and fearlessly challenging plays produced, directed and acted at the highest possible level. With only 80 seats a night, The Coal Mine is inspired by the intimacy and excitement of the Off-Off-Broadway experience.

Job Description

Structural Engineer

The Structural Engineer is someone who is passionate about the theatre (especially intimate, independent theatre), has great organizational/ administration skills and is a leader in management, infrastructure and company growth. This position is part time in terms of hours, but we are looking for someone who has a flexible schedule and can maintain a high level of connectivity within the company. We are specifically looking for a person who is interested in taking the Coal Mine to the next level, and will be invested in the growth and forward momentum of the company.
