UNNAMED 2023 PRODUCTION - CASTING INFO

The Coal Mine Theatre is casting two roles for an upcoming, unnamed production in their forthcoming 2023/2024 Season.

ABOUT THE PLAY:

The Coal Mine will open its ninth season with the Canadian Premiere of a new American Classic. The play will be directed by the Coal Mine’s Artistic Director, Ted Dykstra. Although the Coal Mine is unable to publicly disclose the title of the play, the script will be available to all artists auditioning.

ROLES:

CHARACTER 1 (Female, white, 20 years old): Lighthearted and spirited. She has a much older boyfriend who is a recovering addict. She is always at his side trying to support him and his complicated family and his journey in making amends -- an important part of addiction recovery. She is intuitive and relentlessly positive.

CHARACTER 2 (Male, white, 18 years old): His parents are divorced and he is about to go live with his dad. He is a bit lost, and angry. He has a lot of problems and is in and out of trouble with the law already.

PRODUCTION SCHEDULE:

REHEARSALS: Tuesday Aug 29 - Saturday September 23

RUN: September 24 - October 15

POSSIBLE EXTENSION: October 17 - October 29

This will be an Indie 2.2 production. All artists will be paid $700 / engagement week.
