PROPHECY FOG // SEPTEMBER 25 - OCTOBER 16, 2022

CANCELLED

It is with great sadness that we must announce the cancellation of the much anticipated production of Jani Lauzon’s acclaimed PROPHECY FOG, due to the recent fire at our venue. However, after conversations with the PROPHECY FOG team, the Coal Mine and Paper Canoe Projects have decided to move the run of the show into the 23.24 Coal Mine season.

THE COAL MINE THEATRE IN ASSOCIATION WITH PAPER CANOE PROJECTS PRESENTS:

PROPHECY FOG

Created and Performed by Jani Lauzon
Directed by Franco Boni

From award-winning artist, Jani Lauzon, Prophecy Fog begins with a journey into the Mojave Desert in search of Giant Rock, armed with the question: can a site still be sacred if it has been desecrated? Prophecy Fog weaves together the performance skills of veteran raconteur Jani Lauzon and the expertise of Environmental Designer Melissa Joakim, along with Director Franco Boni to elicit a conscious remembering of ancient prophecies that speak to rock teachings, star beings and earth changes.

★★★1/2 (out of 4) “… a meditative, mind expanding show.”
– The Toronto Star

Prophecy Fog was initially developed through The Theatre Centre’s Tracy Wright Global Archive (with additional support by the Banff Playwrights Lab, Native Earth Performing Arts and Nightswimming Theatre). Originally produced by Paper Canoe Projects and The Theatre Centre in association with Nightswimming Theatre.
